 1-26-02 - Slinger speedway put a close to the 2001 season..with awards of cash and certificates to drivers running 80% of the shows and having a track membership.  Lowell Bennett of Neenah had a close battle end with a championship..while Dennis Prunty hauled off Slingers coveted "Rookie of the Year" title to add to his list of accomplishments. Dennis took home $3,000 in cash plus 4 new tires,several contingency awards..and a nice plaque to add to his trophy case.Dennis finished the season tied for 13th with 9 top 10's,a fast time,and the highlight of the season..5th in the Slinger Nationals.
