January, 2005; SLINGER AWARDS GIVEN OUT AT WASHINGTON COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS

Brad Mueller wrapped up his second consecutive track championship in his More Than Millworks Pontiac by winning the Al Schill Jr. Memorial and the Ritter Parker Store 75. He placed 14 top 5’s along with winning two-trophy dashes. He led the division by setting fast time on 8 occasions and successfully defended his 2003 championship by a 1059 to 1018 point margin over runner up Dave Feiler.

Dave Feiler had an explosive year by winning the Keith’s Marina Fireworks event, the Bob Fish Alan Kulwicki Memorial, and the Behling Race of Champions. He also placed 10 times in top 5 ‘s, and 2 top 10 finishes along with setting three fast times and winning three trophy dashes.

The third place finisher scored a runner-up spot in The Coca-Cola Triple Crown and a popular win in the Enders Corporation / Design 2 Construct 75, the Miller High Life 60, and The Open Pantry 50. His 8 Top 5 finishes, and one trophy dash wins found Eric Fransen finishing third in the point standings. Team Owner Sonya DelCamp accepted the award for Eric.
 
 Lowell Bennett ended the 2004 season in fourth place in the point’s standings. He won 4 features including his 3rd Miller Lite Nationals win, he continued to run near the head of the pack with 10 Top 5 finishes, and one quick time honor. The Multi-time track champion Al Schill, captured one feature wins during the 2004 season along with winning a third place finish in the Coca-Cola Triple Crown Championship and placed eight Top 5 finishes, and set one fast time, finishing fifth in the point standings.
 
 In David Prunty 2004 racing season he placed six top 5’s and one checkered flag feature finish; one trophy dash win, and was the fastest qualifier on three nights finishing the year in 6th position ahead of Austin Konetski.
 
 Rounding out the top ten includes Dave Teske who moved up four spots from last year, the young and very talented Travis Dassow finished in 9th , while Conrad Morgan placed 9 top ten finishes ending his year in the tenth position. Other esteemed members in the Late Model division who contributed to the success of the 2004 race season included, Dennis Prunty who clenched the Coca Cola Triple Crown Championship, Chad Barker, John Mueller, Mike Strupp, Donavan Morgan, Fred Winn, Gregg Haese, Brad Dahmer, Mike Egan, Randy Schuler, Scott Schoeni, Mark Bitzan, Chris Ratajczyk, Tom Hromadka, Ed Grober, Jerry Eckhardt, Robert Maynor, Mike McCabe, Bill Shavlik, James Jesowshek, Toby Rott, Andrew Morrissey, and Ryan Matthews.
 
 Dave Feiler took home the Late Model Rookie-of-the-Year award. He finished in the top ten 12 times, placed 3 feature wins, set 3 fast times and won 3 fast dash’s. In his first year of running the high banks of the World’s Fastest 1/4 Mile Oval he finished 2nd overall in the points standings.
 
 Mark Bitzan earned the hard luck award while Chad Barker took home the honors for the Best Crew Award in the Late Model division.
 
 The stage belonged to The Midwest Modified driver Dale Prunty who led the division with 15 Top 5 finishes which included feature wins on nights sponsored by The Camera Case & TV, Johnsonville Sausage Night, Coca Cola & Open Pantry, and the Behling Racing Race of Champions. He won two trophy dashes and set fast time seven times to place him first in the points standings to become the 2004 Eldorado Trailer Sales Midwest Modified Champion.

(9-18-04) Madison INT Speedway. Dennis and the DDP gang haul the #17 House car to Madison,start 22nd in the 100 lapper and finish 12th with a ton of stagger and a great driver looking like the sprint cars that supported the show.


(9-12-04) Slinger Speedway.Dennis has the Port a John  Ride on rails and easily wins the season ending 75 lapper at Slinger.Dennis is planning  on running Lake Geneva Oct 1st and the Madison special is a possibility this saturday.


 (9-5-04) Slinger Speedway.Port a John,Our Main Sponsor presents the labor day 100.  In timing,Dennis flies with an 11.379.He then wins the trophy dash.In the 100 lap main, troubles ensued and 19th was the final...still 15th in points


 (8-29-04) Slinger Speedway .Behling Circle Track /EH Wolf night at the speedway, twin features of 65 and 30 laps,Dennis times in 14th@11.512   In the main Dennis starts 14th and slowly moves ahead,then tangle's with the 10 car while in 10th.He rebounds from this and finishes 13th...sitting 15th in points.


(8-22-04)Slinger Speedway.AK Memorial/Bob Fish/Open Pantry..wow..alot of sponsors. Dennis starts out 18th quick for the twin 50's.In the first main,an 11th place finish was taken. In the nightcap,he had a shot at the title "Coca Cola King" and Mr Prunty charged past a few cars,took the lead..only to get passed and finish runner-up..but the 2004 Coca Cola Series champion.Dennis and his family will receive enough Coca Cola to keep them awake 24/7!!


 (8-15-04) Slinger Speedway.Dennis does double duty as he races his 42 car and the Dale Prunty Motorsports #1 Mod.  In the Late Model,he timed 23rd with an 11.578. In the semi,he got blocked and could only advance to 4th. In the mod main,a shakedown was all he was doing before he takes a long trip to Tennesee this thursday-sat..stay tuned!


(8-8-04)Slinger Speedway.One word..Invert.11th in time..usually front row..but oh well. Dennis starts deep in the 60 lap feature and tries hi and low but never has a clear path to the front and ends up 11th in the feature.....13th in points.


(8-1-04) Slinger Speedway DDP Motorsports CEO Dennis Prunty announced some major changes to the 42 car this week,"It needs to be loosened up"he stated.Daniel said ok,and loose she was.In timing,he timed in 21st@ 11.633.He then tightened the car a bit and easily won the semi.In the main a late race spin caused Dennis to finish 18th,and lose  a few spots to 13th in points.


(7-25-04) Slinger Speedway. Timing was rough tonight,Dennis timed 19th...semi time. In the semi the 42 Port a John Car looked strong and Dennis easily beat Mike Strupp to advance to the main,but damaged front end parts were found and 16th was all the DDP car could advance in the nightcap.Dennis sits 11th in points making a late charge.


(7-18-04) Slinger Speedway. Rough night for the DDP team...timed well @ 11.561,good for 13th...but in the main a couple tangles and Dennis finishes 18th.12th in Points.


(7-13-04) Slinger Nationals. Dennis"Double Duty" Prunty was actually Triple Duty as he guest drove the Weyer Heating/Port-a-John House car,Served as car owner to "Team DDP awaits the big show" Dale Prunty who drove the #17 Port a John car and drove his own 42 car.The field was large and times were tight,Dennis timed in at 11.580,which was 19th.In the qualifier, The DDP machine took the lead early and faded to a 3rd.In the 250 lap main,Dennis was biding his time until 13 year old Kyle Busch decided to drive over Dennis' LR and destroy the tire and mangle the body.Repairs were made and green flag laps were lost and the final result was 15th.In the Mid Am race,9th in time,10th in the 40 lapper.


(7-11-04) Slinger Speedway. Dennis rebuilds the powerplant in the 42 ride and times in 12th quick. In the main,it was a battle with Al Schill for many laps swapping the lead until a slight bobble allowed Schill to take it.As the laps wound down,JJ Mueller nipped Dennis and 3rd was the result...point standings 14th at halfway. When questioned about changes to the car as to why it was so fast,Dennis said go away!!


(7-4-04) Slinger Speedway.Dennis hauls out old faithful,the 17 car which was last years ride and promptly times 17th out of 39 cars.This means start in the rear yet Dennis charged towards the front and 11th was his at the checkers.15th in points.


(6-30-04)Slinger Speedway.Fireworks Night at the raceway,Dennis times in great with an 11.482,good enough for11th and a front row start.As Dennis was leading he started losing power and while running second,lost all power and had to park it, finishing 16th,and sits 16th in points.


(6-27-04) Slinger cancels races til this wednesday  night..complete with fireworks


(6-20-04)Slinger Speedway MTM 70 night.Dennis starts out a bit off timing in 24th,and this means semi.Dennis and Mike Strupp waged a torrid battle with the latter taking the 30 lap affair. In the 70 lap Feature,Dennis had a decent run,only to get sent to the rear for jumping the start,recovered and drove to a 14th in the main and sits 15th in points.


(6-13-04) Slinger Speedway. The Port a John Pontiac was tested tonight at the raceway, Dennis timed in 20th with an 11.608.This meant semi feature,and 4th was all he could advance, and his night ended early.DDP sits 16th in points.


(6-6-04) Slinger Speedway BIG BUCKS on the line tonight,and Dennis starts out fast timing 4th out of 38.In the dash,Mr Prunty moved to a 3rd place finish.In the main event, what started out so good turned dump truckish as the Port a John Pontiac was pushing and the final result was 13th. Dennis sits 15th in points,123 out of the lead. 


(5-30 and 5-31-04) Slinger Speedway Races are cancelled again......rain...wet...man..this is getting old.


(5-23-04) Slinger Speedway Alan Kulwicki Night flooded out...so its family night at the Prunty house.


(5-16-04) Slinger Speedway. On a nice may evening,the Al Schill Jr Memorial race was run in front of a good crowd and Dennis and the DDP Motorsports team are showing what the sleepless nights were for..a hard charge and a good finish. Dennis timed in 12th with an 11.445,moved up from 12th to 6th in the 60 lapper and all indications are the 42 car is a rocket ship!!Dennis sits 15th in points with a long way to go!


(5-9-04) Slinger Speedway Mothers day 60.After a long week of repairing the steering on the 42 car,its closer,we timed in 17th out of 33,moved up in the feature only to spin late and negate a good run with a 19th place finish.


(5-2-04) Slinger Speedway. Season opener,Dennis steers the 42 car to 21st in time and 4th in the semi.Steering problems have hindered the car,but new pieces are on the way!


(4-25-04)Slinger Speedway Twin 75's,Dennis debuts the new '04 ride,times in 22nd,takes 14th in the first 75 and 24th in the nightcap. 


(1-10-04) Washington County Fairpark. Dennis and the DDP Team headed off to Slingers 2003 awards banquet and took 8th place money and enjoyed a great night with sponsors family and friends.Look for the all new Port a John Pontiac at the 2004 Opener April 18th.
