to the lead, and was crusing when the Big Red Machinery Movers car sounded like Orville  Redenbacker

in the hauler. The culprit was a bent valve, and the 12 car was second. In the main,Tony took one lap

and parked it...finishing 22nd.

and with 30 extra laps on his tires, lost the grip he needed and fell to an 11th place

finish,while 14th in points.

(7-4-04) Slinger Speedway. The Semi Prince(3 in a row makes you a king) gave up

his title and found the tenth of a second he was lacking the last 2 weeks and 11.470

gave Mike and the boys 8th in time.In the main,Mike immediately moved to second

and shortly after a 20 lap side by side battle with Brad Mueller ensued.Running the

hi line lap after lap is torture on your tires, and the 10 car lost its grip, and 14th was

all that could be salvaged.Mike sits 14th in points heading into Nationals Week.

(7-13-04) Slinger Nationals. Mike has a poor qualifying effort,turning a 11.642,good

for 29th.In the qualifier,a stellar field and a back row starting spot meant charge, and

as the laps wound down Mike was 7th,and they took 5..so semi was the word.

In the semi,a second row start and Mike quickly took the lead, then waged a torrid

battle with Chris Ratajczyk for 20 laps, finally taking the lead til ASA star Todd

Kluever nipped him late and second was the payoff.

Tony took the cherry Rander Car/Dodge to the track and problems ensued so

a Behling run was needed, and valuable practice time was lost.Tony timed on

only to overheat and take 15th.

(7-25-04) Slinger Speedway. The Schwanke Experiment continues as Mike times in 20th

giving up 100 HP to the field. In the semi,it was crazy at the start as the front row tangled

immediately and caused some scattering of cars, but as the dust settled Mike was 2nd.

moves ahead to 12th in points.
